The Circus Life

Life’s a circus and this is “The Circus Life”.  Host Justin Trawick, a DC area songwriter, along with multi-platinum award-winning recording engineer Sean Russell record this weekly podcast live from the world renowned Cue Recording Studios in Falls Church, VA, only minutes from Washington DC.  Interviews, stories, and live performances by local, regional, and national acts.


Sean Russell

Sean Russell, multi-platinum award-winning engineer, producer, mixer, and beer aficionado.

He has worked with industry titans such as India Arie, Damien and Stephen Marley, Idan Raichel, KIX, Roy & Yvonne, and Dobe Gnahore.  He engineers for producers such as Gordon Chambers (Aretha Franklin), Rich Harrison (Christina Aguilera, J-Lo),  Jim Ebert (Butch Walker, Cowboy Mouth), Glen Ellis (TroubleFunk, Chuck Brown).

He mostly records out of Cue Recording, in Falls Church, VA, in the ‘Red Room’.  Sean records the podcasts, mixes them, and posts them every week.

Justin Trawick

Born and raised in Leesburg, VA and now residing in Arlington, VA, Justin is a performing songwriter and front man of “Justin Trawick and The Common Good”.  With over five albums on iTunes, Justin and the band have toured nationally and have opened acts including Blues Traveler, Suzanne Vega, Sara Bareilles, Brett Dennen, Bob Schneider, KC and the Sunshine Band, Travis Tritt, Shawn Mullins, Edwin McCain, and even shared festival billings with bands including Dr. Dog and The Avett Brothers.  Justin is the founder of The 9 Songwriter Series, co-founder of The Circus Life along with Sean Russell, and co-founder of UnrehearsedDC along with Rafael Suanes.  In 2014 Justin won “Folk Contemporary Vocalist of the Year” and “Song of the Year” (“All the Places That I’ve Been”) at the Washington Area Music Awards.  For tour dates and music go to www.justintrawick.com.
